What is Suisse thread and why should I use it?

The story behind our Suisse thread is fun, and I hope you will enjoy hearing about it.

I discovered Suisse embroidery thread in 2023 when I purchased a vintage Singer 114W103 which came with a big box of yarn. The yarn (and machine) dated back to the 1950s, and the quality was amazing.

Using the foundational knowledge I have of sewing threads, yarns, and textiles I was able to figure out the weight, fiber, and twist of the original 1950s yarns. This lead to a partnership with a North American spinning mill who was able to provide Chareco with a nearly exact replica of the original 1950s threads.

Suisse (Sweese) thread is made of a mercerized 100% cotton fiber which provides added sheen and strength.
